Poster and invitation for Armando Andrade Tudela’s exhibition at Künstlerhaus Bremen.

“Armando Andrade Tudela (born 1975 in Lima, Peru, lives and works in Berlin and Lyon) approaches in his exhibition for the Künstlerhaus Bremen earlier works from a new perspective. Traces of materials and gestures form the project’s core. Tudela draws on already existing sculptures, films and installations, reconfiguring them for the context of the Künstlerhaus.

“The films and pictures produced for Bremen hence open up a simultaneously documentary and self-reflexive perceptual space around his artistic practice. The depicted objects and people are embedded in a constant motion and circulation that shape the flow of the films. The hobo as the archetypical migrant worker whose origin can be traced back to the west coast of the United States in the 19th-century stands in the exhibition on the same level as objects’ trade. Tudela evokes here a lifestyle that spread after industrialisation at the latest and is not very far-removed from the modus operandi of the artist that repeatedly takes him and his works to new places.”
