art&dialogue e.V.

A collaborative card game and performance by Mathilde Ter Heijne and Amy Patton that invites participants to inhabit non-human perspectives through collective play, imagination, and embodied action.
The graphic design extends this premise by proposing a visual system that complements language with intuitive visual keys, allowing the cards to be read as a process of channeling animal energies rather than simply following written instructions. Information unfolds simultaneously through text, colour, symbols, and image relationships, encouraging multiple modes of interpretation.
The cards are printed using a layered overprinting process in which photographic material is progressively transformed through successive print layers, generating hybrid images that oscillate between recognition and abstraction.
Produced by art&dialogue e.V. in collaboration with Kunstverein Reutlingen for the context of the group exhibition What comes next?! – 70 Jahre Kunstverein Reutlingen, curated by Imke Kannegießer, Kunstverein Reutlingen, May 7 to November 5, 2023.
